The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced is a national level entrance exam conducted for admission into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). JEE Advanced 2023 was conducted recently, and here we discuss the overall difficulty level of the paper, along with a detailed analysis of each subject.
Overall Difficulty Level
The students who appeared for JEE Advanced 2023 found the paper to be moderate to difficult level. The majority of the students stated that it was not easy and required a lot of preparation beforehand.
Physics
Physics was considered easy by most of the students. Questions were not lengthy and were moderately difficult.
Chemistry
The level of difficulty of Chemistry varied for the students. While some found it moderate, others found it relatively difficult. However, most of the students felt that the level of Chemistry was not balanced.
Inorganic Chemistry
The questions from Inorganic Chemistry were mostly direct and came from NCERT.
Physical Chemistry
The questions from chapters of Chemical Kinetics, Ionic & Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, Atomic Structure. Thermodynamics (with more than one question) were asked.
Organic Chemistry
More weightage was given to Organic Chemistry, and questions were asked from Amines, Polymers, Biomolecules, Oxygen containing Compounds. In addition, some named reactions were also asked. Mixed concepts questions were asked from Organic Chemistry, and it was reported as a moderate section overall.
Mathematics
Mathematics was found relatively difficult by most of the students. The questions were tricky and required a lot of calculations.
Conclusion
In conclusion, JEE Advanced 2023 was not easy, and students had to put in a lot of effort to clear it. Going by the student’s feedback, the Chemistry section was not balanced, and more weightage was given to Organic Chemistry. Mathematics was reported as a difficult section, while Physics was comparatively easy.
